Wheel Bolt Pattern Tool
- the arrangement of the bolt holes on a wheel. A 4 bolt wheel with 100mm between opposite bolt holes would be written as 4/100. Some wheels have more than one bolt pattern on the same wheel to accomodate multiple fitments.
- A series of holes drilled in axle flange face that correspond with a series of holes drilled in the brake drum or rotor that wheel studs press into to allow wheels to bolt to the unit.
- lug pattern / bolt circle / pcd is defined by the number of bolt holes and the distance measured from the center of one lug hole to the farthest lug hole accross from it. This is often measured in millimeters (25.4mm=1inch).
- steering wheel: a handwheel that is used for steering

HB-M756 Hub with "ISO Cog" (sprocket)
Yeah, I had to use a fair few washers to space the chainline out... the frame is 140mm not 120mm.
The hub is a front hub off a mountain bike, and the sprocket is attached where a disc brake usually mounts. :) That's why the hub is upside down. Laced in a 3 cross pattern by myself (my first wheel build). Got my LBS to tension it though, as I was crap at that bit (don't have the tools or the skills).
Sprocket is from London Fixie.
Threadlock on the bolts too...
